That’s why a farm-to-fork philosophy underpins everything we do, from cooking classes to tours to catering.

If you want to reconnect to the source of your food and learn how our local farmers and ranchers are growing healthy food these days, join The Well Traveled Fork on a tour of Central Oregon's finest farms and ranches. Led by locavore Chef Bette Fraser, you will see firsthand where your food comes from and meet the hardworking farmers and ranchers who produce some of the most delicious food and beverages in the West. You'll learn about their commitment to using only sustainable production methods as they manage their very diverse businesses. Under the backdrop of the Cascade Mountain range, you will visit a variety of small family farms that nourish Central Oregon with their vegetables, eggs, cheese, wine, grassfed meats and more. Our route changes seasonally but is sure to excite and educate visitors to the bounty that Central Oregon has to offer.

You can also learn about and taste Central Oregon's bounty through an enriching cooking class offered in Chef Bette's well-appointed kitchen (complete with a wood-fired oven!). Class topics vary depending on the season, but whether it's Italian cuisine, holiday entertaining tips, or a kids cooking class, everyone has something to learn from Chef Bette's 25 years of experience. Private cooking classes are also available for those seeking instruction on a particular topic or looking for a unique group celebration.

The Well Traveled Fork also offer's Central Oregon's only farm-to-fork catering services. Using only the finest and freshest local ingredients, Chef Bette will prepare sustainable feasts for the many occasions that you celebrate with food. You can be assured that your meal with be prepared with attention to taste, style and presentation. Chef Bette and her professional staff will attend to every detail and make your event delicious and memorable. The gourmet catering provided by Chef Bette will tantalize you and your guests with a captivating catering experience you won't soon forget.

Sample itinerary for a Farm & Ranch Tour:

Start off the day visiting a diversified produce and meat farm that specializes in fresh greens, grown year-round under greenhouse cover. Learn about the day-to-day operations that keep the pigs healthy, the chickens happy, and the farmers sane! Next travel to a winery with fantastic views of the Three Sisters mountains. Taste some of Central Oregon's only home-grown wine as you explore the vineyards and learn about the winemaking process. Finally, end the day at a second-generation certified organic family farm that is leading the local food movement in Central Oregon. Hear about their innovative practices designed to conserve resources and grow delicious vegetables, meat, eggs and grains.
